DO I NEED A LICENSE TO RENT A BOAT ON KORCULA?

While you can drive a boat without one, at least one person on boat should have nautical license. Nautical license also known as an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) and a VHF radio certificate. It is mandatory for renting a boat and (from our guests experience) police is doing frequent checkups.
Some rental companies will rent you a boat without a license, but you will be heavy fined and towed in if you get caught.

HOW TO GET LICENSE?

If you have boating experience and are confident in your boating knowledge you can take a simple exam. This gives you a Category B boating license which authorizes you to operate boats up to 30 GT for personal use. The license covers all the inland waterways of Europe and for both inland and offshore coastal waters of the Mediterranean countries.

You can get all the information about exams and courses at nearby Port of Authority.

If you have no previous boating experience it is advisable that you take a course before applying for the exam. The courses are usually 4-6 hours and take you through the basics of piloting a boat, safety and meteorology.

I DONT HAVE LICENSE BUT I WANT TO DRIVE A BOAT!

We have several licensed skippers available who can accompany you. Price for a skipper is 100 EUR per boat per day. This way you can drive the boat while licensed person is near you in case of emergency.

Renting a speed boat with a skipper on Korcula is a little bit more expensive but totally worth it for the peace of mind, ease and flexibility. Kick back and let the pro do their thing!

WHAT IF THERE IS A BAD WEATHER?

We provide rent boat on Korcula almost all year long. In the spring and autumn, there can be bad weather like strong southern or northern winds and storms. If your trip is cancelled due to bad weather conditions, we are willing either to refund, or to provide a rescheduled option.

IS THERE ADDITIONAL COST?

DEPOSIT – we hold 500 euro security deposit in cash before your departure for the cruise with our boats for rent on Korcula. When you return the boat as received we return you the security deposit.
FUEL – Fuel price is not included in the cost of rent a boat on Korcula. If you have trouble with parking a boat at gas station or don’t want to be bothered with refueling the tank, we can charge fuel cost when you return boat to us.

KIDS AND PETS POLICY

Pets are allowed! And for children, we offer kid size lifejackets.

WHAT IF I NEED HELP DURING THE CRUISING?

At any time during your cruise you can contact KORCULA-RENT.com via phone, whatsapp, etc. if you need any advise or assistance. All the boats are equipped with GPS TRACKER with which we know your exact location so we can assist you immediately.

DO YOU PROVIDE SNORKELING AND FISHING EQUIPMENT?

Yes, we provide snorkeling gear and fishing equipment (with baits) upon request.

WHAT PAYMENT METHOD DO YOU ACEPPT WHEN RENTING A BOAT ON KORCULA?

You can pay either with credit card, cash or PayPal.
If you choose to Book Online at least the rent has to be instant with credit card or PayPal, and then in person you can choose your payment method for the deposit and skipper if needed.

Badija is the largest island in the Korcula Archipelago located in the near vicinity of Korcula Island in Croatia.

The most dominant feature of the island is Franciscan Monastery built in the 14th century. 

In the late 14th century, Franciscan monks from Bosnia were given ownership of a part of the Badija island when they began building a monastery.

Most of the monastery was built in the middle of the 15th century in late Gothic style.

The cloister of the monastery is an attractive example od Dalmatian Gothic style.

Although the monks maintained a presence on the island for centuries, the island and its monastery were used as a sports center from the 1950s to 2000s. The monastery and portion of the island were then returned to the Franciscan order.

The island is forested with pine and oak trees and bordered by rocky and pebble beaches and is, therefore, a popular place for a day trip by locals and visitors alike.
